Commercial/Projects Lawyer (4+ PAE)
  • An opportunity to make a real difference
  • Fantastic, supportive working environment
  • Wide variety of work, direct client contact
  • Highly competitive remuneration

We're looking for a junior lawyer with a commercial or projects background to join our growing team. Turtons is a small, highly regarded commercial firm in Sydney. It is also one of the oldest firms in the country.

The role will involve a variety of commercial work, mostly in the construction and technology sectors. You will be involved in the preparation, review and negotiation of different types of commercial contracts. You will be asked to consider and advise on a range of commercial issues, some of which may relate to disputes or potential disputes.

It's a role where you will be able to leverage your existing skills and experience as a platform to learn new things and get involved in a broader range of commercial work than you will have experienced before.

As a small firm, we offer a number of things that bigger firms can’t.  A supportive, collegiate environment.  Reasonable hours.  An opportunity to get involved and make a real difference (both internally and externally).

You will work directly with the firm's principals, receiving not just the benefit of their experience, but also their desire to mentor and develop all of the firm's staff. You will be working as part of a small team of high quality young lawyers.

We offer things most other small firms don’t.  A 100+ year history.  An inclusive, transparent culture where you are encouraged to participate.  Systems and an IT infrastructure developed over many years.   Highly competitive remuneration. A fantastic, brand new (light-filled) office near Circular Quay, and obviously a great culture.

Some of the things we are looking for are:

  • experience in a well-regarded law firm;
  • strong academic background;
  • keen attention to detail;
  • advanced computer skills and an interest in technology; and
  • desire to learn new things and make a difference.

If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply.  No recruiters please.
